At 26, this native and resident of Tyler, Texas, is a package of beauty, vibrant personality, friendliness, musical talent and Christian devotion that is attractive and appealing to those who hear her sing.

This package has been wrapped in multi-colored papers through the years. It began with dance and music training throughout her childhood and high school years, plus leading roles in school productions and church presentations. It continued through college singing groups and on to her acceptance into nationally-recruited summer performing ensembles at Nashville's Opryland U.S.A. in Nashville, TN, and in a contemporary Christian music showcase in Branson, MO.

Tanya was graduated from Tyler Junior College with an Associate in Arts degree and the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. Between weekend concerts at churches, she teaches elementary school music near Tyler and looks after her husband, Brandon, their son, Justin, and a menagerie of animals.

If there really is such a thing as a down-home girl, she'd be much like Tanya Sims (including the freckles!). A corny joke here and there, never taking herself too seriously, completely at home with an audience, loving to sing for Christ more than almost anything else in her world, it's no wonder that she instantly is endeared to her audience as she lets forth not only with a truly fresh and delightful personality but also a remarkably expressive and mature voice.

Anchoring this vibrant young lady is an added dimension only Christ can bring, a refreshing faith in spiritual principles. Tanya hopes she not only can model music done well, but something even better: the reality of faith in a challenging society.
